U-Sphere (2004-2021) is a site that tackles "borderline" subjects that we tend to avoid under the guise of certainties and prejudices, personal prejudices that we most often ignore. Hypotheses are exposed and tested here through multidisciplinary surveys, often "outside the box".

U-Sphere is not strictly a scientific site: it is a laboratory for ideas, for prototyping concepts, crossing datas and providing "food for thought". If the hypotheses discussed here prove to be sufficiently promising, they maybe developed with scientific laboratories.

The attitude is open: I avoid all kind of beliefs and agree to explore any possibility that is even the least probable. Thinking "It's possible" and not "I believe / I affirm" is my bias. Conversely, I have no complex in recognizing and correcting an assumption that turns out to be unrealistic or "stupid". I am attentive and benevolent to critics, ready to abandon any mental construction or any work, however long and tedious they may be, if their inanity is demonstrated.

Likewise, I try to remain aware of the speculative level of the hypotheses discussed, considering that it is also an intellectual game. This detachment relative to the subjects discussed seems to me to be an essential mental posture.

The choice of this name indicates a posture of research: an approach of the unknown ("u" nknown) by the environmental "spheres" (in connection with this new discipline, called "[https://en.wikipedia.org/ wiki / Earth_system_science Earth System Science] "). U-Sphere's site is a wiki, and obviously a wiki can't be read like a blog! I chose this structure in order to facilitate my note-taking, transversal and informal, and the creation of links between the pages. Modeled on the principle of the famous encyclopedia because human thought works in a network, it is not linear. The whole forms a huge puzzle, which by its internal constraints, will push certain hypotheses outside the field of possibilities, but also allow to integrate others, unexpected. It also means that many articles are "hidden", buried behind other articles, it will sometimes take a little luck to find them (!).

While revisiting recent developments in the U.S., this presentation is, above all, methodological: it aims to demonstrate that we are not powerless when faced with the unknown. Every phenomenon, no matter how enigmatic, can be deconstructed and analyzed. This is an opportunity to introduce key concepts used by GEIPAN, such as strangeness and consistency. But beyond methodology, this is also a crucial reminder: we all know that Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP) pose significant challenges for airspace security. Yet, they raise an even more fundamental question—are these manifestations the signature of non-human intelligences operating around our planet? As our technological capabilities advance, the possibility of detecting intelligent signals—whether within our own atmosphere or beyond—steadily increases. The probability of proving the existence of non-human intelligence is not zero, and it grows with each passing year. Such a revelation would mark the dawn of a new era for humanity, one defined by an unprecedented cultural and societal upheaval. In the face of this growing hypothesis, should governments remain passive, simply waiting for such a cultural shock to unfold? It is a question worth asking. The current conventional response remains: "We see no evidence that these unidentified objects in our skies pose a threat." A convenient reduction of information. But how different is this from a police officer responding to an emergency call by saying: "We see no evidence that the stranger sitting in your kitchen poses a threat. Sleep well." 2024.12 A game of life with Genetic Algorithms. The emergence of complex phenomena within Conway’s Game of Life is nothing short of fascinating. Did you know that, using nothing but the game’s fundamental rules, it is theoretically possible to construct a fully functional computer? It is indeed conceivable, but not something that could happen by mere chance. Left to randomness alone, you would almost certainly never achieve it. So, the real question is: can we subtly guide the game toward such an outcome?

I believe the answer is yes, by structuring it in such a way as to favor the mechanisms of emergence. The approach is twofold: 1/ Granting cells autonomy, by embedding within them their own reproduction rules, rather than having them dictated by the environment. 2/ Allowing cells to transmit their genetic code to their descendants, creating a form of inheritance. By following this approach, one can fully adhere to the original rules of the Game of Life while introducing meaningful variations. Very quickly, intriguing structures begin to emerge, like the one attached here—self-organized, layered, and evolving across different levels of complexity. To bring complexity to life, one must work at the interfaces—those delicate boundaries where scales shift and orders break, fostering cooperation between cells in such a way that new, higher-order structures emerge, more organized than the underlying patterns that preceded them.
